Interview with Gommert A. Van Koeveringe at EAU London, 2017
Underactive bladder is an under-recognised issue which is actually very problematic for patients and doctors. It is symptomatically a big issue with a considerable effect on the patient. Naturally, each patient expects effective urological input, but the reality is that no established therapy exists with a realistic chance of adequately helping the majority of patients. Professor van Koeveringe has made this a research priority in the unit at Maastricht, beginning with the diagnostics, as the starting point in driving delivery of healthcare solutions in this under-resourced area.
